Although I’ve been frantically preparing for my family to arrive and packing, cleaning, etc., all morning. I had to take a break to post a few words of wisdom from Gabriel.
Earlier this morning, Lily bonked her head and wanted milk (she was pawing at my shirt). I didn’t feel like nursing her, so I was trying to distract her with her rubber ducky. Gabriel furrowed his brow, nodded his head sagely, and said, “I think the baby wants milk, Mommy, you should nurse her.” How could I argue?
Then, a few minutes ago, he was trying to take a toy from Lily (his toy, granted, but Lily was obviously playing with it). I said to him, “I want you to be really nice to baby Lily today so you can show Grandma what a nice boy you are!” To which he replied, “But Mommy, I’m not a nice boy!”
What a character!
